As informed by the National Events Centre on 9 April 2022 at a press conference, the Jeddah Season 2022 is running from early May to June. The advertisements and press releases for the coming event are being circulated throughout the nation. The season returns after 2019 after a two-year break due to the pandemic situation of Covid-19.
The alarming situation forced the nation to suspend every public event to safeguard the citizens during the pandemic times. But, now the nation is back with a new promising slogan, ‘Our Lovely Days’ to celebrate the festival season with more joy, energy and excitement. The main objective of the Jeddah season is to promote cultural diversity and openness to the world.
Jeddah, the growing regional tourist destination, is rich in culture and heritage. As a part of the national strategic initiative of the Saudi season, the Jeddah season aims to focus on the culture, entertainment and sports in the nation. Jeddah season will be conducted into nine zones for hosting various events. These zones include Jeddah’s Superdome, Jeddah Jungle, Jeddah Yacht Club, Al-Jawhara Stadium, Jeddah Art Promenade, City Walk, Jeddah Pier, Prince Majid Park and Al-Balad.
Jeddah season 2022 promises a packed schedule of 2800 events. According to the officials and authorities, the season will feature anime events like City Walk Zone and fireworks display each night, performances by Arabic and international names, a science festival, mind-blowing performances by K pop, and an exclusive performance by Cirque du Soleil Fuzion and many more.
Concerts and plays will be performed by Arabic and international theatre artists and companies. The Jeddah Jungle zone will feature the country’s biggest zoo with several reptiles, predators, rare birds, a game area and direct interaction with animals. On the other side, the City Walk zone will be hosting movie shows, balloon experiences and comic-con events for the fans of anime.
The Cirque du Sly performances, and educational and entertainment activities will be held in Jeddah Al Balad. Theatre, art shows, Arab concerts, international exhibitions, K-pop and science festivals will take place in Jeddah Superdome. The Jeddah Bear will include entertainment games, international experiences and a mobile amusement park.
The Jeddah Art Promenade will witness the opening ceremony of the season for three consecutive days including live shows, daily firework displays, restaurants, cafes, a survey tower and many more stores for the visitors. The Jeddah Yacht Club, for the first time, will include the tourist marina in the country, a school for driving sailing boats, restaurants, shops and marine experiences.
The season will witness many amazing international exhibitions, international plays and concerts, Arab plays and concerts, interactive global shows and experiences, marine programs and activities, firework displays and entertainment games. It promises a global season filled with joy, fun and entertainment. A wide range of amusement parks, restaurants and cafes will be displayed in the Jeddah season of 2022.
The Director-General of Jeddah season, Nawaf Qumuzani, confirmed in a press conference that this season will provide many job opportunities to the young generation and leverage their role in the entertainment industry of the country.
The general manager also addressed that they have tied up with the company and concluded with a show that is specifically meant for the event. The entire show will run for a month, and the tickets for the show will be made available very soon.
The event takes inspiration from the coastal identity of the city. The National Events Centre seeks to accomplish the development and economic goals of Saudi Arabia’s vision, the Saudi Vision 2030. The goals can be achieved by improving the events sector in cultural fields, sports, tourism and entertainment.
